****UPDATE****
THIS TANK IS NO LONGER UP AND RUNNING. FISH WERE TRANSFERRED TO MY NEW 150 GALLON TANK IN THE BEGINNING OF JUNE '11. MOST SURVIVED, SOME DIDN'T (NO DEATHS OCCURRED FROM THE MOVE, THEY JUST HAPPENED OVER TIME FROM TANK AGGRESSION). CHECK IT OUT!

My 75 gallon cichlid tank. Finally got all the fish together, no fighting, no deaths, just some chasing. Working on saving up for a 150-200 gallon tank so they all have some breathing room when they're fully grown. Lighting sucks because the cover is made of plexiglass and it doesn't let the light through as good as glass. 21 fish total. Filter is an aquaclear 110. My tankmates include the following:
1 X 6-7" jaguar
1 X 5-6" green terror
2 X 5" oscars, 1 tiger and 1 albino tiger
1 X 3" Jack Dempsey
2 X 1-2" convicts
4 X 1-2" salvini's
1 X 3-4" blood jewel
1 X 3-4" firemouth
3 X 1-3" red terrors
3 X 1-3" flowerhorns
1 X 6-7" polypterus
1 X 6-7" Common Pleco

enjoy the view. comments welcome!

  • @0101german the jag is maybe like 8-10 months now. idk. i switch their diets up from flakes, crisps, granules, bloodworms, beefheart...no feeders though. i'm not trying to catch any parasites.

  • nice tank. hard to see a couple of fish, but looks good overall.

how long have you had the jaguar for, what do you feed your cichlids to get them at that size

  • @dpark254 yeah the red terrors and flowerhorns are still little so you can't really see them in that lighting. i might get rid of a few of the less vibrant ones and just keep one of each once they get bigger. i'm waiting to see who the more colorful ones turn out to be. maybe i'll hook up another light to the side and try again with another vid...thanks for checkin it out

  • lol....vids to dark to see. Ur GT has a nice nuchal hump already:) I was hopin to see ur flowerhorns n red terrors. What kind of flowerhorns do u have and r they true or false red terrors? That's a wicked list. U plan on thinning out ur stock cuz over half of ur stock will easily grow to 12-18+ inches. If u plan on keepin all of em when they're full grown...ur gonna need a much much larger tank than a 200g. There's gonna be some massive aggression once they start pairing up n try to breed:)
