The VacMaster VP210 and VP215 are not retort capable. Do not believe dealers who sell them as retort units. They transformer and heat wire is not large enough to seal the bag properly, and can not be upgraded. The heat bar has to be set at full high heat thus burning the outside of the bag material. This will allow air into the bag and the danger of botulizum in the food is very high. Use these units for regular seal bags only.
