  • The cities decide where the money will be dispersed. Our safety cameras have been proven by numerous studies that they reduce FATAL T-bone collisions therefore saving lives. If a person JUST ran the light after yellow... that would be a RED light which is illegal and dangerous.

Intentional or not, paying attention at all times when driving is a must in order to ensure the safety of yourself and others. Driving is a privilege, not a right.

  • I live here. Just moved here from the PNW where texting or talking on the phone is illegal. Here it is commonplace. I hate driving here because you see it all of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both were on their cell phones.

  • Sometimes around the 10am-2pm part of the day it's hard to see lights. I don't think this person intentionally ran the light.

I am willing to bet that your "safety cameras" tend to catch people who JUST ran the lights after yellow. If it's for the safety donate your money to charity.
