why in the heck do you think most of the south is republican now and the north democrat? it's because of the ideology shift in the 60's where things got twisted. read my last comment.

they vote democrat because there was an ideology shift in the 60's. do you really think that the current republican party is still 'the party of lincoln'? NO during the 60's when people were fighting for civil right the south (which largely was democrat) turned republican because the republicans at that time were fighting for segregation. The northerners, who previously were Repubs, switched to Democrat to fight for civil fights justice. HISTORY PEOPLE

Which party have the racists preferred in the last 50 years? Isn't that far more relevant than when Lincoln was around and the Republicans were the LIBERAL ones? You'll easily find today's racists wouldn't be caught dead voting Democrat. So why the propagandist manipulation of facts? Seems to me it would be a subject conservatives would avoid. Guess they thought blacks don't go to school.

I did my homework! Guess what? MLK was a Republican before all the southern racist Democrats (Dixiecrats) jumped ship to the Republicans. Here's why they mention Robert Byrd - He was one of the only old Dixiecrats not to jump ship. Notice they don't talk about Strom Thurmond or Jesse Helms or dozens of others. Here's something more recent. Remember the KKK Grand Wizard David Duke who ran for La. Gov. and POTUS? He switched parties too. Guess which way? That's right. From Democrat to Republican.
