Thai Protesters Clash with Police

And we begin today's broadcast with increasing political tension in Thailand. In Bangkok today protesters clashed with police as they tried to get to Government House. Here's the latest.

STORY:
The People's Alliance for Democracy or PAD, is a party of businessmen, academics and royalists called for hundreds of thousands to join their "D-Day" rally today. But they were met by thousands of police, backed with water cannons and tear gas were out to stop them. Authorities pushed and shoved demonstrators as they marched towards Government House.

PAD's aim is to force the five-month old government from power.

Police expected only 14,000 demonstrators to turn up. They say they are prepared to use force if necessary.

Fears of clashes last month stoked rumors of another military coup. But the Chief of Police says "PAD" leaders should abandon their aim to lay siege to Government House.

Police were brought in from all over the country. At least eight barricades of crash barriers and prison trucks are set up around the government compound.

The majority lost its right to rule by court ruling concerning vote-rigging, they should abide by it and let democracy take its course.

The puppet regime is actually THUG-SIN and his pack who are trying everything they can to regain power and the frozen assets!

Obviously PAD Anti-democracy movement don't understand true democracy itself. They are doing the military's job and will let in a non-elected corrupt miltary backed puppet regime. The present governement were actually democratically elected by a majority.
