Pretty campy but a classic. I remember part of what drew me into the show was the opening. Would have loved to see it remade in the new version.

Although the new series is not bad -- the original is so much better. Yes, it is dated and cheesy -- but it was very imaginative, interesting, had morals, a linear storyline, a scary villian, great, catchy music, and lots of action.
The new series is darker, but it seems much more toned down and made for the true fans of the original series, like me. They have basically just copied much of the original's glory and interpreted it into new material.

waaait did it actually say "The" Snarf... i mean that his name no reason for the "the". Also this intro is on the first dvd set on the first episode after that it poofed.
