芳艷芬在從中華民國四十二年(1953年)4月前往南洋登臺,州府地(吉隆坡 Kuala Lumpur)、石叻(星洲 Singapore)、庇能(檳城 Penang)、壩羅(怡保 Ipoh)等地,並拍攝粵語片《檳城艷 Belle of Penang》(1954年3月)的外景,最後在星洲搭乘英國海外航空公司客機,在中華民國四十二年(1953年)12月19日(星期六)下午2時45分返扺香港。

粵語小曲《檳城艷》;撰曲:王粵生;樂隊:王粵生、文就波、盧漢、盧京、張劍鴻、陳文海;演唱:芳艷芬。

馬來亞春色綠野景緻艷雅,椰樹影襯住那海角如畫。
花蔭徑風送葉聲夕陽斜掛,你看看那艷侶雙雙花蔭下。
馬來亞春色綠野景緻艷雅,瞭眼底那綠柳花裡便掛。
芬芳吐花與樹香美艷如畫 ,我最愛那春日裡鮮花幻化。
情侶們互吐情話於椰樹下。若兩情深深相印,睹春光芳心更愛他。
馬來亞春色綠野景緻艷雅,椰樹影襯住那海角如畫。
春風送一片綠香野外林掛,春風鮮花,心內覺舒唱樂也。
若午夜互訴情話於椰樹下,情侶在芭蕉曲徑,一雙雙相偎怕看他。

  • @hkgalbert Bless you for wonderful post- music and scenes are fantastic!...I too, am trying to leave something to next generation, especially how to play bamboo flute and sitar... wish they were hungry for it like I was many years ago...you are very wise!

  • Thanks Albert. This is great video. It's like a documentary showing Malaysia in those days. Many Chinese would work in cities like Penang and Singapore. The video also shows some Malay people tapping rubber trees. Thanks again for sharing.
