Please carefully review this "Employee Free Choice Act" and you will find it eliminates the right of the individual to a private ballot to vote for or against unionizing. This subjects the worker to pressure and coercion, when he(she) should retain the right of a private and personal decision to join in a union.
In 25 percent of organizing campaigns, private-sector employers illegally fire workers because they want to form a union.
So-called "private ballots" are management-controlled elections. As former Labor Secretary Reich says, elections work in a democracy, but "the workplace is not a democracy." Employers hold all the cards, and the Employee Free Choice Act would enable workers who want to join a union to do so without harassment and loss of their job.
