Added support for textures and more terrain manipulation. My next goal is hardware instancing for grass.

Putting in support for textures (1 base & 4 alphas) reduced my frame rates to about 300FPS, but that's viewing about 1.5 square miles.

I think it's looking good so far.

  • HI can you please help me, i need to draw some texture over the terain like you draw that Yellow circle. How can i do that, please help me i need it.

  • I used HLSL. In your terrain shader, pass in another texture (the yellow circle), mouse coordinates, and the size parameter. When the pixel shader goes to get the color, have it grab from this second texture as well.

    There are some samples on the web. If I can find them, I'll post them.
