An amusing pastiche on My Fair Lady, a man is trying to teach a Sloane Ranger how to talk Cock-er-nee.
She just can't grasp it, so the professor calls for refreshments.
One swig of her Heineken and the woman is speaking in the dulcet tones reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn's classic Eliza Doolittle, before the transformation. Heineken

  • Oh wonderful for sharing this. Classic. Many thanks

  • Legendary. For those wot don't know, it's a pastiche of the "Rain in Spain" scene in "My Fair Lady" where they are attempting to teach a cockney girl to speak proper ladylike.

I love the way her facial expression shifts one gear after one swig, then goes all the way after two.

  • so..,. the girl drinks some bear and starts talking in Cockney accent; while the young man drinks some and starts talking in American accent. Is that correct?

  • Aint seen this for like at least 25 years :-)

  • Cobblers...

  • @BigChrisButler No, we just speak the standardised more respected version of English. Which people stereotype as 'stuck up cows' because Cockney is seemed as more 'cool' but it isn't because respectable people speak it like members of Parliament, the Prime Minister, the royal family and most educated and respected people. And also Standard English is the way we right so you are just calling yourself a stuck up cow really...

  • @hannahc888 yeah, a stuck up cow!

  • @BigChrisButler Or she just speaks Received Pronunciation...

  • The waw-er in Majorca don't taste like how it ough-a xD

  • Possibly the best UK Advertisement of all time.
