Jazzman, bass of the year 2001!
I have on of those, also a five string (but no passive switch). Lovely bass, I also own a corvette (active) and another corvette fretless, but nothing compares to the Jazzman. Have you seen the dials on the active board (inside the bass)? these control the frequency of the mid control, you can really open up the sound of your bass by playing around with those!
By the way, great playing in this "demo" clip. Nice to see such a great bass in such talented hands!

Nice review but I could't find it "versatile", is the very same nasal sound with little variations, at 1:22 sounded kinda different. Thanks for sharing!!!

Sick tone.....I love the humbucker alone tone,burpy,almost sounds fretless,kinda the way Paul Denman's Stingray tone was on Sade's old stuff......Does your bass have ovangol neck and full maple body? Well done demo.....!
