@killmuster In English, to "retard" something means to slow it down/stop it. So yes, it's telling the pilots they have the throttles set above idle when landing.

that happens on the ground with the A320 due to rain water flowing down from the tail on the lower fuselage over the radio altimeter antennas. our operator has a bulletin to put silicone grease on the fuselage just aft of the rad alt to stop the water and this happening
