Mozart's directions are "il più presto possibile" (as fast as possible) and then later on "più presto" (faster). So he's actually just faithfully following instructions, :))

Le plus Don Giovanni du festival d'Aix : Bacquier avait tout : la classe, l'oeil, l'allure. Que demande-t-on à un interprète de ce rôle là : du sex-appeal physique et vocal... cela Bacquier l'a toujours eu. ( quant à ceux qui ont des délires psy sur le personnage et la manière de l'interpréter... qu'ils relisent le livret et la partition

Interdit de dire du mal de Bacquier si vous n'en dires pas du chef qui est responsable du rythme effréné de l'aria ! La voix de G. Bacquier n'a jamais été sompteuse, mais quel comédien !!!. Imbattable dans Scarpia, Golaud, Fra Melitone, etc
