==About Chris "Daddy" Dave==

The Foundation / Sa-Ra Creative Partners / Blackgold

Having blessed the scene for over 10 years with his unique musical styling, Chris Dave's musicianship defies classification and places him among the drum-world's best. His articulated beats, intrinsic rhythms and innovative inflections have gained him recognition as one of the most influential and prototypical drummers in the industry today. Chris has been around the world and back playing for and recording with some of music's most established and iconic artists including:Mint Condition, Kenny Garrett, Terrence Blanchard, Dolly Parton, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Me'shell N'Degeocello, Robert Glasper Trio, Nicolas Payton, TLC, Toni Braxton, Kevin Mahogany, Kim Burrell, Mos Def, Erykah Badu (Currently on tour with), Common, Maxwell, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, A Tribe Called Quest, Vicente Archer,(Janet Jackson World Tour), Vernel Brown, Munyungo Jackson, Romero Lubambo, Dianne Reeves, Otmaro Ruiz, Michelle Williams, Sa Ra, Geri Allen, Yolanda Adams, Robert Hurst Trio, Donald Brown Trio, Soulful Symphony and Reginald Veal, just to name a few.

One of the many projects Chris is involved with is a band called The Foundation. Having just released their debut album The Foundation is a tremendous live hip-hop band consisting of "my family and friends from H-Town." The Foundation includes Chris Dave (drums and production), Pookie (keys), Kay (vocals, production), D. Rose (vocals), Jon Jon (bass), Luke Austin (keys), Marshall York (percussion). They receive over 2.5 million hits monthly on OkayPlayer.com. Naturally, the purpose and motivation behind it is their uncanny love for hip-hop and true "freedom of expression." The project just released their self-titled debut on iTunes featuring special guests: Bilal, Stokely (Mint Condition),Me'shell N'degeocello, PZ, Sa Ra, Tanya Morgan, Strangefruit Project, and Soulfruit. The Foundation initially formed in Houston and continues to produce music for artists all over the nation.

The RCDC Experiment, formerly The Experiment, is another facet that Chris Dave has been busy with. The RCDC Experiment travels through jazz, Hip hop, R&B, funk, fusion, and many other avenues. Long-time friends and some of the most established musicians in the scene today, the RCDC Experiment consists of Robert Glasper (Blue Note) ..s, Casey Benjamin on alto sax and vocoder, Derrick Hodge on bass, and the Chris Dave on drums. Whether it is their amusing musical chemistry or endless camaraderie, a certain ingenuity forms and guarantees unparallel synergy at every performance. The RCDC Experiment has played with Mos Def, Q-Tip, Talib Kweli and many others. The fearsome four will be heading to the studio in the forth-coming months.

Chris Dave's influence in the art of drumming along with his notable works and successes, have become an incredibly valuable asset to the music industry. His persistence, passion, and talent have inspired many, and will continue to do so, through his ceaseless contribution to the future of music.
