During our visit to the Makerbot Industries headquarters and the NYCResistor organization located upstairs in the same building, we stumbled across some really exciting new projects that will definitely enhance and improve the 3D printer performance.

So it can basically "print" any plastic shape?

@phenomenon91 That's the basic concept. Of course there are limitations, but the Makerbot is capable of printing fairly complex 3D designs at lower cost than any current alternative.

the "Secret projects" are adding in blue lights... wow. By a kit and make it yourself and save $1000+. 3D printers break down (yes even Makerbots). If you assemble it yourself you will have a greater feel on how to fix things. There is also a great community surrounding it

I want to connect a WiiMote and Nunchuk up to one, and use the accelerometer, joystick, and buttons to control the thing to do some free styling. Probably would look like a pile of plastic shit when I'm done, lol.

Cupcake Cnc is maybe open source ,but the kit itself is pretty expensive.
