  • playing by the rules doesnt get you very far.

  • neither does interpreting it the same way everyone else does and giving a trite performance :)

  • where does it say its sociopathic?

  • "cold blooded murderer" is a pretty good clue into the sociopath thing.

    "Its because I like it."

    therefore, she's a masochist.

throughout the monologue, she doesn't think anything she does is wrong.

in terms of playing a sociopath, this isn't so bad imo. if you were expecting a whiny little girl who wants sympathy...go watch the breakfast club.

  • My god. do you really think this is good? i was looking for a murder monologue and i previously found this one in writing. IT IS NOT A WHISPERY MONOLOGUE AND YOU, please dont go for a movie or anything. go for modelling or something because u r very pretty but dont act, please. or at least try this caring about yourself in character, and shout and scream and be SAD for yourself.

  • @chocolateforsale

perhaps your problem is that you're not clear on the definition of a sociopath. :) this is the monologue of a sociopathic murderer, not a little girl who feels sorry for herself.

a sociopath is devoid of empathy and is actually quite pleased themselves. they find joy in others' pain.

if you go around screaming and crying for yourself in this monologue, you lack depth of character.

    good try though.

also, I'm a bit short for modeling.

feel free to post your version of this.

  • Great Job! This helped me a lot in writing my own monologue for my drama assessment. We were working on the playscript Mugged and we had to do a monologue of how the murderer felt after the death of Marky. Thanks for the help!

  • Wow. I feel the intensity and pleasure in your voice. Finally a good one! Well done :)

  • That was great!!

  • So this was very good

The only 2 things I would say is have it memorized before you perform it.

And, something that my teacher told me that has really helped me! and this goes for everyone,

when memorizing your monologue...memorize it with no emotion. just a plain monotone voice. and just read through it line by line and repeat it over and over. when you have it memorized, and you start acting it...you dont have it memorized one specific way. that way if you want to change tactics, its easier.

  • its a litle bit overacting!!!!

  • awesome..

  • awesome...

  • I love it!!!

  • memorize it next time

  • You definitely have potential. The only thing that lets you down is that I can see you reading it from the screen or paper or whatever. But I love the seduction and self satisfaction in your voice. I've not read the play but I can gather from this that this is a girl who has no sympathy for others, and wants none for herself. She thinks nothing she has done is wrong and can't see why people even care about who she has killed. They are worthless to her and you have that act down good! Keep it up!
