Whitening may increase sensitivity, We utilize various desensitizing products in our office that help minimize sensitivity. Some of the desensitizing treatments are done for a few weeks before the whitening treatment.

I think a year or two after I get my braces off (I'll be about 16 or 17), I'll want to definitely get my teeth whitened. Right now, they are soooo hideously yellow.

Depending on the individual whitening for a thirteen year old is possible but should be done by a dentist who is familiar with your dental health.
