Again Les Quirk was an inspirational presence on the left. The finest winger ever to grace the Stones Bitter Championship.

George Mann & Wardy battered Widnes on the day. Saints are Widnes's jinx in the Challenge Cup...the last time they beat Saints was the final in 1930 !!!

Hey!!! This is the first time I`ve ever seen these highlights...BECAUSE I ATTENDED THE BLOODY GAME...but there were some good tries, and I went wanting the Chemics to win as they`d have the best chance to beat W****.This was not the referee, this was a great Saints performance.

I remember playing the pies at Central Park one Sunday and the Widnes supporters club bus arrived early, only to find Holdsworth and a certain Mr Lyndsey in a quiet little office at the back of the club "having a chat and a quiet drink". Hmmmmmm
