Scripting as you call it is really packet editing. And what you saw in the beginning was neither. It was programming, a programmer named G3 wrote an app that emulated towns client and gave him control. Secondly the lawsuit was a scare tactic by gaia, they don't have legal ground to sue. Basically this was a "LOL THIS WILL SCARE THEM AND THEY'LL TELL ALL THERE FRIENDS SO EVERYONE WILL BE TOO SCARED TO DO ANYTHING". It was legally unfounded.
