A NASA Future Forum panel moderated by Doug King of The Museum of Flight in Seattle examines how commercial investments in space exploration and research will help build the American economy. (Part 3 of 4) Since 2008, the agency's ongoing series of Future Forums have examined how NASA's missions are a catalyst for the creation of new products and services; new businesses and industries; and high-quality, sustainable jobs while also serving as an inspiration for young people to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and career paths.

  • short introduction: 30+ min monologues. Oh guys ....

Suggestion for the next panel: More specific Information, less general stuff you could google.

Precise answers would have been awesome.

Thanks for the video, but there's room for improvement!

  • cool, but ... please correct the audio volume next time...

  • "....Speaking of nerds...." BURN!

  • Space Sex! i love it :)

  • thumbed down for the selfish title

  • @MarsHasLife I never understood you people.Say alien life or intelligent alien life is acknowledged world-wide tomorrow, what are you going to do about it? Life will go on as usual, people will continue to live and die. Did you all think that by just acknowledging alien life, they will come and give us help or something?

  • The air force wants to do a 5 year bulk buy of ULA EELV's , this is in the national interest. However every 18 months this agreement should have a re opener clause to include new space participation.

Any intergovernmental purchase should also encourage bulk buys but also competition out side of ULA .

And lastly Air force R&D of fly back boosters should have as a goal commonality with SLS CBC and commercial EELV................................

  • the down select,

chose a lifting body and a capsule, SpaceX and Sierra Nevada! However continue to fund at a low level the losers at $5 million per year each.

use another NASA budget line item to purchase Bigalow space stations to ISS, this would use the Atlas for launch so indirectly funds the Boeing capsule and Atlas.

use SLS R&D to fund a Delta CBC for that vehicle................................

this program funding strategy would give us three human rated vehicles plus Liberty

  • never a straight answer

  • I know NASA scientist must hate having to appeal to a bunch of idiots.

If it doesn't have weapon application they don't want to hear it.
