Recent media hype and movies like Juno give teen pregnancy a certain kind of treatment. ANP went to one health center in the Northeast of Washington, DC to explore the real thing.

I do agree teens should not have babies but ay, sometimes shit happens, doesn't make it right but it happens. My cousin was 17 when she had her baby. But she graduated high-school, got a job and her own apartment and is doing a good job raising her babygirl. Not all teen moms are irresponsible brats. No need to judge anybody.

@OmgYouSuckDick I don't hate teenage mothers, nor do I think all of them are bad. But the bitter truth is a lot of girls do plan this, and go on reality tv shows, and do it to trap their boyfriends. Having a baby at a young age is a irresponsible thing to do considering the countless forms of birth control offered at clinics and pharmacies. Teen parenting depends more on the individual. Emotionally, yes teens can be good parents as other women, financially no, they just don't have the money

13, 14 years old are too young but they have babies and so few at that age are virgins but they hard to find those ones who want to wait they think sex is something to be playing around until they got pregnant and they say ohh it was a mistake but for that mistake there is an innocent coming to the world who is not guilty for your mistake

Yes, I was a 'teen' but a late teen, and we had lived together for two years already. We have both always worked, never lived on benefits, our children never go without and are doing excellent at school. Granted some teens don't get it right, but neither do some older parents. Don't tar all 'teen' mums with the same brush.
