This certainly isn't a "modern image" layout.

@pookleburger hey i am new to dcc and i am considering installing it, is there any way i can use my current controller which is a hornby analog one for dcc, and do i have to change any track or anything to use dcc.

I also have just bought a deltic pinza from Olivia`s with bass speaker, sounds seem a bit high and i hav`nt found how to notch down also stuggling to find a shunt mode function, can you enlighten me?

need smoke too, lol
Does the DCC sound chip produce the sound from within the loco, or is the sound coming from the controller? Sorry.

The chip and speaker are in the locomotive

If I get a sound chip from Olivia's Trains, would it work with Hornby DCC?

In theory, yes

Just bought a Deltic sound chip from Olivias Trains, highly recommend a visit to the shop, the owner spent a lot of time showing me the different speaker set ups. The wife thinks its too noisy so I suppose that means its about right!! It's best described as an assault on your ears - great!! well done Olivias Trains...
