Deltic 55008,The Green Howards, one of 8 Deltics on my modern Image layout. A fictitional TMD based loosely on Finsbury Park in the late 1970's. 55008 has sound as does one of my 3 class 47's 47137 Both locos can be seen in this clip.

  • Does the DCC sound chip produce the sound from within the loco, or is the sound coming from the controller? Sorry.

  • The chip and speaker are in the locomotive

  • If I get a sound chip from Olivia's Trains, would it work with Hornby DCC?

  • In theory, yes

  • Just bought a Deltic sound chip from Olivias Trains, highly recommend a visit to the shop, the owner spent a lot of time showing me the different speaker set ups. The wife thinks its too noisy so I suppose that means its about right!! It's best described as an assault on your ears - great!! well done Olivias Trains...

  • Excellent, I find the guy very helfull and as he was a BR driver, he has an extensive knowledge of the real locomotives he is selling sound for.Glad you are happy

  • This certainly isn't a "modern image" layout.

  • do you think they could respray a class 66 gbrf to fastline

  • @pookleburger hey i am new to dcc and i am considering installing it, is there any way i can use my current controller which is a hornby analog one for dcc, and do i have to change any track or anything to use dcc.

  • lots of deltics that what i like to see very good layout and is that a green capri i spy right at the end ??

  • I also have just bought a deltic pinza from Olivia`s with bass speaker, sounds seem a bit high and i hav`nt found how to notch down also stuggling to find a shunt mode function, can you enlighten me?
