I don't think that works for the same reason that ichigo and tatsuki doesn't work. They've known each other too long. They're more like siblings at this point.

I'm a Rukia man myself. I don't hate Orihime though and if she won, while I'd be disappointed we'd have closure. I can see Kubo chickening out and not declaring a winner at all though. Don't be afraid of drama Kubo, you're actually pretty good at it. I've often thought of that scene early on in the story where Orihime is disappointed that Rukia professes to have no attraction towards Ichigo. How would she feel if Rukia reversed her position now? I'd love to see the complexity of her reaction.
