I don't think TheA330pilot has ever seen the front end of a large transport category airplane. Other than the air temperature, weather has very little to do with flap selection. And one flap setting "coping" with turbulence better than another? Complete crap. If you want to compare climb performance, consider their single-engine gross weight performance. The 757 still climbs very well with one shut down, while the 330 is a dog.
@TheA330pilot waaaa the fuck u talking about? the 757 is the best climbing aircraft out there. it can climb 4000FPM u cant beat that. and especially a passanger plane.
Especailly on such a horrible day, more flap should have been extended. I know the A330 is a much better climber and copes better with turbulnce with flaps 20-30. This may seem drastic, but it really works.
