Banana Speedway was built in 1981 to race Micro Sprints.Shown here in its third year, the Cars are getting faster, some are now water cooled and they all have full suspention. The first car seen is future Sprint Car star Lance DeWease at the wheel of his lime green #55.Back then he was no match for Randy Satzler in the blue and white #5. Randy went on to become 6 time Track Champion. For 2 strait Years, winning the point title at 3 different tracks and leading the tri-state area in feature Wins.

  • oh boy I remember when miros looked like that we ran 250 twins in MO.

  • banana speedway was in my hometown...suprised to find a video of it...wish it was still there!

  • I think I saw Lance driving that wild Green car . Man he was exciting to watch back then ,I was glad to have a fence between him and me . You could never be sure where that #55 was headed. Lance became a heck of a driver over the next 20 some years, and to think he got his start at Banana Speedway.

  • Randy had multiple Track championships at Hill Valley, Path Valley, and Banana. during the 80s I remember the Blue and yellow #17 he was fast

  • Randy Satzler was good! But none of them was RAPIDO WILLIAMSON! HA HA!! Great video! Brings back some of my fondest memories! Thanks for posting!!
