With the Avenger Seawolf, Breitling has accomplished a major technical feat by producing a professional divers watch. This watch is water-resistant to 3.000 meters (10.000 ft). The Seawolf also has a safety valve enabling it to balance the differences in pressure inside and outside the case.

  • If you lookup comex rolex submariner you'll find it. The atmosphers of pressure that build up due to helum not being able to escape pop out the glass. The watch is made to withstand great pressure from the outside, not the inside. The case is made of steel and it won't just crack open. The week point is the glass, It may not eject like a seat, that depends on the construction of the wathc but will move out ward enough to no longer be in place

  • So is the glass under the bezel? I mean, how does the glass "pop" out? Does it break and shatter because of the helium pressure? The reason for my question is that if the bezel is on top of the edges of the glass I have some difficulty seeing it "pop" out? what do you think? can you clarify?

  • The helium valve si not to avoid the case from exploding at great depths. It is for saturated deep sea dives. When pressure builds the smaller helium atoms get between the glasse and the whatch. When in a décompression chamber to get back to normal pressure this can make the glasse pop out, so the helium valve is to let the pressure out. this was initially designe by rolex for the comex diving company
