Actually I went to it last week and was burnt to death in my seat so actually the advertising is pretty accurate.

You probably burst into flames at the sound of Meredith Arwady's voice. It's just that incredible.

Well, I sort of agree, one wouldn't. And the fact they've referred to it as "re-living" is a bit weird. I don't think anyone goes to watch Aida to re-live the life of an Nigerian slave in Egypt...

But I'm sure it's going to be an amazing opera, and I can't wait to see it 11/03/09!

Before they dropped two, ydeeerg, they made one for a test, exploding it in New Mexico. Development of the A-bomb began early in the war, at a time when Hitler was also working on one, so it had a more morally defensible purpose. Germany surrendered Apr '45; decision to drop them on Japan caused scientists moral qualms. At the time someone said to Physicist Leo Szilard, "It is the tragedy of scientists that their works are used for destruction." He replied, "No, it is the tragedy of mankind."
