Worker bees and queen bees start life exactly the same, with the same genome, but an external factor -- one has some "queen's jelly" and one doesn't -- changes the course of their lives, physically and socially. Dr. Victor Corces explains this natural phenomenon in terms of epigenetics during a presentation titled "DNA Is Not Destiny." Dr. Corces spoke at the 2009 Predictive Health Symposium at Emory University.

Dr. Victor Corces is a Arts & Sciences Distinguished Professor and Chair, Department of Biology, at Emory University.
