This video has been vandalised by YouTube; the 480p HQ setting has been removed, as with many other videos of mine and other users.
A short edited video of the celebrations at the Chalice Well World peace gardens, Glastonbury, England. This video follows on from the others taken on Glastonbury Tor, shown on this channel. It is much edited, and I didn't have an ideal situation to take these images this time around. Avoiding the backs of heads is a nuisance, and there's lots of coughing; from the smoke probably. Fitting the celebrations into 10 minutes was difficult and not to best advantage.
This video starts with Natasha singing with sincerity and emotion: a great way to start this video.
Some of these shots were taken at quite high magnification, consequently they appear wobbly. The guy in the green cloak is Nicholas R. Mann who has co-authored many books about Glastonbury (The Isle of Avalon) and its mysteries.
The celebration of Beltane: the first day of Summer, May 1st, was an important time for the ancients: a time of fertility rites in praise of the Earth, our mother who supplies us with our food & water, hence, life.
We are abusing her, and must cease to do so, otherwise it shall result in dire consequences, not only for the whole human race, but for our other fellow TENANTS of the Earth; our brothers and sisters of the animal & plant kingdom.
With recent news that we are responsible for up to a third of marine and terrestrial life extinctions in the last 35 years, we ought to be looking hard at ourselves. It is probably no coincidence that in one month alone, (in 2008) we have had thousands die in Earthquakes and a Cyclone; a previously thought extinct Volcano in Chile has blown its top, too.
The Earth will always bite back if our attitude doesn't radically change.
In this video, we see the lighting of the Beltane fire, a light symbol. Fire leaping is also shown. Happily some had partners or lovers to leap with. We see also, the Maypole dance, (well, a part of it is shown here). The Maypole symbolises fertility, and is a phallic symbol, or so I am given to understand.
**Listen for the sound of a Heartbeat, apparently after about 1min 40 secs into the video. No drums used at this point I am told, and I didn't notice one either!
Heard easily on headphones.
**Jana Runnalls and my good friend Lydia Lite provide most of the songs and drumming.
The video is best viewed using the "High Quality" setting.

@radiokrink
I don't think so!
Probably best to ask a wiccan :)

@mikesey1 Neither Wiccans nor witches have a single dress code. Some groups and indivduals use robes for a variety of reasons. Some work skyclad (naked) and some wear everyday clothes. Its really a combination of tradition/beliefs and personal preference.

I hope they are just acting, because otherwise it's sad. Only the Catholic Church has the fullness of truth. Our Lady of Glastonbury, pray for us.

@Wellymary1
A good comment, but really, there is room for all in this town.
