I see so many people comparing 촛불시위 to the 데모 in the 80's, 데모 in the 80's weren't like 촛불시위 at all. They(the fully educated and logical college students)were protesting for what they believed in with knowing and accepting the risk of protest. And back then the president was militaristic figure who kept the order with violence. However, it is 2008 now and the president isn't at all a "once-military general" figure.
