There is something about the sound of Francescatti I can't put into words, he's not my favorite soloist but I really like his unique tone and I can honestly say Ive never heard any sound like that before or after. His Hart Strad has a wonderful sparkling tone and I understand it is now owned and played by Salvatore Accardo. His recording of the Beethoven Concerto is still among my favorites and many highly regard his Paganini recording. I think more of his recordings should be available but have gone out of print. I also seem to recall Mr Gitlis saying many nice things about Mr Francescatti in The Art of Violin doccumentary, he certianly was a great and unique soloist and his recordings are well worth collecting. For more information on him I recommend getting your hands on the 13 volume series of books titled "The Way They Play" by Applebaum in which he was featured (I forget which one).
I have uploaded rare out of print and unreleased recordings that are difficult to find, I hope you like them.
Since they are so difficult to find no one should mind me uploading them, if you have issues with me uploading them please send me a message and I will remove them.
