Blue Moon

Please watch in high quality! I took so many pics tonight and finally came up with this one, I am very happy with it. I shot it while standing on the frozen Yukon River at 31 degrees below zero. I froze my fingers spending the time to get the settings right.
For those who don't know, a "Blue Moon' is when two full moons occur in the same month, the second being called a Blue Moon.
So the saying goes... "Once ina blue moon...."

Auto WB

tripod is a must

I took a lot of pictures with different settings and finally came up witha couple like this.

Oh and using the timer is a must too... its so cold that your breath anywhere near the camera will screw up the pic!

Happy new year Tam. great shot, yeahi have the same camera. an EOS 400D and your so lucky to get such a great shot. not to many blue moons happen, but you obviously where in the right spot, and hey-31 aint to bad. Was -57 in Fort Saint John 4 weeks ago...hehe

Cool, it looks like it's the same camera as I have. But it's called EOS 400D over here..

I never thought that 1/400 sec would be enough though!! I thought more like a couple of seconds... :-D Thx for the info!!!
