A rep is one action. For example one skip would be one rep.
A set is made up of reps. In this video she is doing 30 reps in each set for skipping. Then she is marking the chart once for each set she does.

"each set has thirrrty reps" reps = repetitions, how many times you repeat the movement/exercise.

you will burn more calories with an intense workout like this one but it may be more difficult for you. Lifting weights burns more calories after you have finished exercising plus you will be able to lift more because you are bigger. If you lift weights and then walk or speed walk after your weight lifting workut for your cardio portion then you will lose weight fast. Don't forget that diet is just as important, if not more. Portion control is key and have a vegetable every time you eat.
