  • just incredible

  • Wow! a new discovery pour moi! if only such treasures in the musical archives were more widely known, however, here we all are enjoying this performance. Many thanks to all responsible.

  • wow you people certainly know alot more about classical music than I do. But despite my ignorance i enjoyed this performance very much. Thanx for posting it!

  • Christian Ferras always was one of my favourite violinists, as for his Sibelius (and the Brahms): I believe he set the standard!! But I like the Kavakos very much too.

I don't believe the conductor is fake: he's (a young) Zubin Metha, isn't he?

    greetings from The Netherlands.

  • This is simply incredible!! The violinist solo is so incredibly professional, I enjoyed every moment of it!

  • I only know the Chung and Viktoria Mullova performances of the Sibelius, and this is by far the best I've heard. I love the way he plays the cadenza, not one iota of tension is lost. My chief criticism of Ferras here is his portamento, which I felt was sometimes just tasteless. Also, I felt sometimes his playing at times lacks a certain delicacy - the end of the candenza with the ascending scale in broken octaves I felt was rather aggressive.

  • i think the conductor is fake.

  • The video's intonation is off, but his playing is in tune

  • Ferras moves me most as a musician. He was an incredible violinist. This is an amazing performance.Terrible his life became so tragic. Unbelievable talent.

  • I become a ferras's fan... omg =O
