  • Great video!

I have a question about the effectiveness of this. How well does doing regular exercise like this prevent atrophy from the weightless environment?

If you worked out hard enough with resistance on a daily basis, could you theoretically prevent any atrophy from occurring?\

    Thanks

  • @kennyguy42 The odds are better that your upper body muscles will atrophy less than the lower body. Astronauts primarily use their shoulders and arms to translate (move) about the Station all day long. However, they do not use their legs, so those muscles will probably shrink a little bit even with a one-hour ARED workout per day. Hopefully, the SPRINT experiment will reveal something about this. Great question!
