The acoustic atmosphere of 'Silent Hill'

I am a big fan of the Silent Hill (music-)style composed by Akira Yamaoka. And some people asked me why - and I said 'Well, you have to play the game, because you can't really explain...'. And than I made that video to show a little bit of the great atmo of Silent Hill. It's a mixture of different background-tracks from the game. Some pics from the game (part 2 and 3) show the visual style of Silent Hill.

yeah..sometimes it could be the scariest, when there is no BGM in silent hill ;)

The thing I always love about Silent Hill, was THIS reason. It is so memorable because of how unsettling everything sounded. Akira Yamaoka is to be commended because of his ability to compile such a terrifying atmosphere, in the light, OR more famously, in the dark.

Silent Hill 2 and 3's graphics kicked all the other game's graphics back then. Best original textures, best lighting and some of the freakiest environments ever made for a game. Makes me wonder what Team Silent would have done on a next gen console... God I wish they'd do just one more! Give us another Silent Hill 2! (:
