Born in 83' so i missed out on NFL games at Kezar. My Dad would take me there when I was a kid to throw a football around and try and kick it through the uprights (not sure if they are still up).
Great childhood memories of the place. I just wish I could have seen the Niners play there.
I'm glad you enjoyed Fenway. It's a great ballfield that is worth seeing & feeling aside from the game being played. Braves field is now BU stadium (Nickerson Field). My dad would take the train in to watch Warren Spaun pitch in the late 1940's. At Fenway before the bullpens, the pitchers would warm up along the right & left field foul lines before the games. My dad would go in early & watch all the greats warm up. The place has an awesome history!
@AssinnippiJack i'm from san francisco and never got to see a game at kezar. now its just a high school field. i've been to boston and i love fenway park. yawkey way, green monster, the painted red seat out in right field where williams launched one, the nieghborhood around there kenmore square, boston beer works everything about the place just ooozes baseball
there were concessions for seat cushions which required a deposit. most fans wouldn't bother returning their cushions for the $0.05 deposit. many local kids would round up mounds of cushions and make a pretty good profit each game.
I saw my first 49er game at Kezar in 1946. They played the Cleveland Browns with Otto Graham; Marion Motley : Mac Speedie; Dante Lavelli and Lou Groza et al. My favorite 49er is still Frankie Albert., what a great quarterback. I played football ( a couple of games ) at Kezar in 1953 with Balboa High and ran track there for three years also. But those are other stories. Great video..... thanks.
I also wenty to Poly high school with George Siefert. Since the Poly football coach was also a scout for the 49ers, we kids got to be the ushers on 49er game day. We saw a lot of great games in the 1950's. The seats were bench style and were only 24" wide, so if you left your seat to go to the bathroom and returned the other fans would overlap on the space you vacated. Fans could bring anything into the stadium in those days, including small pony kegs of beer which made for an obstacle course.

Great video on Kezar. Never saw it yet being from Boston I know how it feels to lose the old venues. Fenway is still with us 1912-2012!
