Why are you so worried about Etsy? When I joined about 2.5 years ago, they had 25,000 members. Last summer they passed a million and hired their first CEO. I meet people all the time who either support Etsy or are thrilled to hear about it and can't wait to look it up. I truly believe we have made a dent at eBay.

Sure, Etsy is growing but they don't give a damn about their sellers. Keep in mind that this video was made last summer in response to the troll posting vulgar links about Rob White while Etsy's search function hardly worked.

To tell the truth, I was once one of Etsy's biggest cheerleaders, but now that there's artfire, and Etsy has changed quite a bit from how it was last January when I joined, well, I consider myself done over there. No one gives a hoot so I don't either.

In what way do they demonstrate that they don't care about their sellers? They are all about promoting their members. They may become less personal as they become huge. Whether or not this happens to ArtFire remains to be seen. Thank you very much for the tip on ArtFire. I'll be spending my morning setting up over there.

The subcategories in jewelry> earrings, art>prints, and many other places lagged in loading time from 15-30+ seconds, and it wasn't fixed heading into the Christmas shopping season. I used to work for another online retail company, and we would have been fired if a huge bug like that was allowed to exist for days, nevermind the 2+ months that it existed on Etsy (and might still exist today...frankly I just gave up and stopped checking when artfire came).

Nevermind the fact that they ignore serious bugs like search while rolling out rainbow mandelas in the Treasury...

There are just so many ways to see they don't care. Hope you like enjoy artfire!

As with any forum out there (especially the gaming community), you have to walk away with what YOU deem appropriate and informative. If the forums aren't helpful, create a small network for yourself and communication (convo) only with them. Positive = positive. Etsy will get better :)

Well, I just joined ETSY because i heard that my cousin went to scool in third grade with the originator! That's not why I joined..It's a beautiful,pro looking site and since I make necklaces i thought that would be a good thing to post there so: January 16 2009 was my first post..I have lots to learn then I will post really special necklaces! I'm Starrbeads there and I have hope for that site! All I do here is smoke cigars and wiggle my toes,No kidding!
