I say again - the cult status of the SA for officers: When they can have children (during training) Not allowed to own a home Hair length inc facial hair forbidden during training Permission needed if officers wish to adopt or foster ' ' to get engaged rules re age bracket whom one can marry must be another officer no consultation in where u will live and work (its Gods appointment) Called only by rank wear uniform accept 'armys'positional statements as your own totally Cult Behaviour
-
Staines songsters singing 'are you washed' is kind of ironic......no?
-
@k0smon The SA holds cult status only within how it trains, controls and uses its officers...read my previous comment. The 'soldiers' are as other members of any xian organisation/church
-
@k0smon 'what the army position is on numerous issues' which officers are expected to accept without question. in fact if you look closely and the controlling tactics of any cult it is easily matched to that of army officers. The old days of retired officers being tossed out to fend for themselves are gone thank God - but it has strong Cult status within its officer ranks
-
@k0smon You are so wrong.....the cult status does happen with the officer rank of the army - look at the huge rank of the awful term 'X officers' who have been shunned and disfellowshipped! Who are totally controlled in marriage, how many children they can have and adopt, the age gap they are allowed to marry between, if you look closely at how officers are treated and expected to live it is nothing but 'cult status...You are trained 'how to think''what to wear'''what not to drink'
-
@tartandaddy ::: Are you an ex-officer? You will need to define 'cult' as I do not see it fitting the organization. They do not practice mind control as do the JWs with their disfellowship and shunning.
-
@ISBBBb2 You salvationists love and seek praise for your 'good work' but boy oh boy you sure do get touchy if anyone dares make an observation or express a concern - are your ego's really so fragile?
-
@bassblower28 I am not bitter,I am a person of faith who is entitled to expose a wrong. I am in a very strong position to question the funding and spending of any charitable organisation, the SA is not immune from criticism, especially when dealing with public money.I would rather, than praying for me, you spend some time and energy in researching the fundraising activities of your organisation and do something to actively seek change in its use of public money. I have the right to be concerned.

@stuinNorway are you talking about the salvation army in the UK? - Be careful about crying out 'rubbish' if in fact it is you who do not know what you are talking about.....take a moment and do some research . I will await your apology.
You know many UK salvationists involved in social work? How many? ......Be honest.....and what social work?
I understand the nature of tithing - salvationists are very poor givers (UK) and rely heavily on the general public to subsidise their Corps (Churchs)
very well done tim and david raymer
