The Battle of Cartagena de Indias was the decisive battle of a massive amphibious expedition by the forces of Britain under Vice-Admiral Edward Vernon against Spain under Admiral Blas de Lezo, taking place at the city of Cartagena de Indias, in present day Colombia, starting in March 1741. It is the most significant battle in the War of Jenkins' Ear and one of the largest naval campaigns in British history, though it is now largely forgotten by the British, blending into the greater conflict of the War of the Austrian Succession. It ended in a major defeat and heavy losses for the British

  • @telkines 300 spaniards with machetes in a close corridor waitting for the dogs of England.... the siege of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) is one of the most humiliant defeats of the history.

jenkis ear was not won by england, and also not won by spain, we firm a contract to finish it, and to turn situation as it was before war

    status quo ante bellum

  • @alekzander2010

now lets see cartagena de indias 1741 facts:

    1. brits tried to conquer a little island not a country

2 brits had 186 warships and 26.000 soldiers against 6 warships and 3000 soldiers

    3. the main power of spain was a good strategy not a huge army or a bad weather to help

so, i admit englad power in sea, but not in Ground warfare against spain, we had the best soldiers, old rome knew that, even more there are some english proberb

  • @alekzander2010

ok forget my insults, let talk about history

english army won against spanish armada (that was called "invincible" by brits no bey spanish) in 1588, i know, im not trying to hide that. BUT there are some facts to talk about:

    1. spain tried to conquer a country

    2.Brits had 190 warships and Spain had 130 warships/galleons

3.i dont refuse the brits strategy, but bad weather help them to defend

anyway, i agee the brits talent at sea battles

  • @alekzander2010
