@paddlepopkid i dont really approve of your methods of argument, mainly due to all the misplaced insults but you are right about the fact that the convicts committed petty crimes like stealing and even just cutting down trees, among serious crimes as well. although the amount of convicts that were transported does seem small compared to the amount of immigrants you got during the 1851 gold rush.

@themanisheab180237ce - i know what you mean. I'm from Scotland and hate it when we get mixed in with the English, whom by the way take all the credit for our achievements. Anything good a Scot does is regarded as a "British achievement" but if the English do something its an "English achievement"
