Want to know if your computer can run StarCraft 2 or what type of computer to buy? Check this out.

Also a look at pricing, quality settings, and performance of the highly anticipated game.

(I know this video is not in 3D, like my others, but this one did not need to be)

I did some benchmarks of SC2 that I share in my next video - check it out. Now that I actually have SC2 to test, I can say pretty comfortably that a dual-core computer running at 2GHz or faster is recommended, and having a video card that is as fast as an Nvidia Geforce 8800GT is probably the minimum you want for medium graphic settings. Really- I think Blizzard's official requirements were pretty accurate.

Cheers!

Starcraft 2, wings of liberty, is completely independent of Starcraft 1. The only game that needs starcraft 1 is the expansion for SC1; aka, broodwars.(very old).

Upcoming expansions for for SC2 will probably require SC2: WIngs of Liberty, but will be sold for about $30, instead of $60.

    -cheers

  • this is might be the most retarded question you can ask but doyou need starcraft 1 to play it or do you need like starcraft2 wings of liberty and starcraft2 heart of the swarm to play it do you need all or just one??

  • sucks i can not play because my computer is .6Ghz too slow to support starcraft two plus i have been wanting this game for over a year

  • How good does Starcraft II work of a Dell GX280?

  • @ZerthonGT it should run fine.

  • Will I be able to run it at all?

    *intel core i7

    *2.20 GHz

    *4GB (64Bit) DDR3 RAM (expandable to 8GB)

    *1600 x 900 resoloution

    *Radeon HD 6770M 2GB

Your computer sucks, but there is a good chance that if you buy this following item and install it, you will be able to play SC2 just fine. It costs just $69 and includes free shipping:

    SAPPHIRE 100287VGAL Radeon HD 5670 @ Newegg.com

There is a 'small' chance that it may not work because... 1.It may not fit. 2.Your Power Supply may stop working (forever) or become unstable. 3.Your motherboard may not be able to power the card and cause crashes.

    No one dies however

  • @sseguin ... your scaring me I never new much about computers

  • @TheIcefang No, you will need a new graphics card at the very least and your CPU is barely acceptable.

I assume you have some sort of budget eMachines system. It probably has 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250-Watt (really 200W) power supply and a cheap motherboard.

You can either buy a new computer(!) or you can buy a new video card. If you don't want to make your power supply explode, the fastest video card you can use is an AMD 6670, but even that might kill your PSU if your PSU is too crappy.

  • would a geforce 7050

    intel pentuim e2210

    320 gb hdd

    run it?
