I love me some Electro Harmonix effects. Here's how I use my Microsynth, and my general knowledge of this unit.
Three things that I didn't touch on in the video that I should have are as follows:
1, There's an inherent slight bit of delay when the pedal is engaged. It's easily compensated for.
2. The pedal takes some getting used to, not only for the delay, but the effect itself is a bit squirrelly until you really get a feel for it and where your playing and your bass sort of defines where the attack trigger should be.
3. The unit really tracks well, except in the lower frequencies - the SubOctave voice falls apart below the low A (3rd string at 220hz), and the other voices fall apart below a bass guitar's low E string. I wish I showed this in the video, and maybe someday I'll post up a response or something.
4. There's one thing that really bugs me about the pedal. There's no light indicating that the pedal's engaged, as is typical for pedals. I've gotten used to it, but it still catches me off guard now and then. Also, it would be awesome if an expression pedal could be hooked up to control the filter sweep's end frequency.
