Ever see those weird signs on the highway that warn of "speed enforced by aircraft"? Takes on a somewhat more sinister context in the current environment of illegal wiretapping, etc., so I concocted this tongue-in-cheek "conspiracy" tune about all the surveillance we put up with (or don't know about!).

  • Well done Bill! Enjoyed the music, lyrics, and visuals. Seond the comment about the feel of Jim Croce. Perfect sound for songs of protest and social comment.

Funny how this song took me back. Once on one of our family road-trips across Nevada I asked Mom and Dad if the aircraft would bomb us if we were driving too fast! Nothing livens up a boring trip for a little boy like the fear of being strafed.

    Thanks Bill.

  • @bimppyboy1 I am delighted to have hit the nostalgia button with this song! I, too, always marveled at the implications of that sign when I was a kid riding with parents.

  • Love it..... And it brings back pleasant memories of Jim Croce... RIP.

  • @Sparky5999 So pleased that you like the song, and flattered at the comparison with Jim Croce, one of my heroes. Several folks have mentioned the similarity in vocals/lyrics, so I am now determined to learn a bunch of his classic songs and put them in my repertoire. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • Excellent song and a well-made video.

    Props to you!

  • @zipshot Thanks for the compliment!

  • Great song.

    "Live free or die"

  • I had the inspiration for this song driving to California last year. I meant it as a "tongue in cheek" conspiracy tune, but lots of folks take it as a serious indictment of the current state of surveillance in the US. Scary stuff. Couldn't find a place for Homeland Security in my tune - maybe a new one is needed!!

  • Very cleverly put together Bill. I love this song. I never cease to be amazed by the number of security organisations in your country. I think you forgot to include the Dept of Homeland Security in your tags. A very important one. Here we only have two. One for overseas and one for domestic matters. However, I must agree with you on the erosion of personal privacy. We now have security cameras on the streets to curb street violence. 1984 is definitely here. Well and truly.5*****

    Cheers
