BTW thanks for your comments, really did show me how some interpreted rock so narrowly... I now understand why it is divided as whole and with pop domineering the airwaves, it just hurts the cause to bring rock back... No offence intended...

Most of the commentators here are the old-fashioned rockers... Its a good thing what you call "mainstream rock bands" or even "pop bands" put up a remnant of the old rock... By the way, the content of their songs is good... Lyrically sound... The thing that really turns off the old rock is being a bloody rhetoric in its lyrics(though not all). Your all entitled to your opinions anyway. Rock ain't just about rebellion and its old rhetorical messages... It needs to evolve or develop...
