@mocub69 I never knew what to compare the sound to. A cricket sound. Perfect! Now THATS what it sounds like ;-) Can't wait to get my 57 beetle back on the road one day.
@EXTREME4YEARSTOCOME The Beetle is also known as a Type I. Type II is a Transporter or bus - the difference is pretty obvious if you look closely ! ;-)
I love that old, classic VW sound. I have a 1979 Super Beetle Convertible. Since it's fuel-injected, it only has the single exhaust, so it doesn't make that "cricket" sound, but I wish it did. I've always loved that sound, too.
