R22 VORTEX 4CH 35MHZ COAXIAL RC HELICOPTER HIGHT TEST WITH ONBOARD CAMERA ESKY LAMA V3

I taped the camera to the side of the heli which caused it to lean to one side a bit and kept wanting to go that way. As the heli was loosing signal briefly up high and with the wind, it was getting a bit of a wobble on but it recovered every time without any blade strikes. My t-34 would not cope with this without the blades striking and crashing, maybe its because its lighter than the t-34 at 250gram. anyway for £15 you can't beat them.

Iv'e since found out they are exactly the same as esky's lama v3, robins 22 and others so all the parts are the same including all the xtreme range of upgrades.

Hi @upernoe, the canopy says r22 vortex but its basically a re-branded lama v3. all parts fit from the lama and other esky models ie. robins 22, kob, hunter, co-comanche plus eflite blade cx/cx2.

I'll drop a big hint to the wife for my birthday lol ... back to the t34, have ordered a new top gear for mine as some of the teeth are stripped, is it a major operation to fit them ? Haven't had the guts to take a screwdriver near mine yet !

@molskoi Hi, no its easy, just be careful with the screws in the brass retaining collar thats on the lower gear, the screw heads can shear off easily then your brass collar will be stuck on. i needed to change my upper gear too, but the screws broke on the collar so i had to cut it off, then i needed a lower gear and inner shaft aswell.

@molskoi Just remove the brass collar and the lower gear is free, then pull out the inner shaft with upper blades and balance bar from the top, loosen the 4 screws in the lower blade grip and slide it up and off the outer shaft, then the upper gear pulls out from the bottom with the outer shaft. just make sure all the bearings go back.

@molskoi Hi, the seller doesn't call them r22 in the title, the item number is 370496724143. i've since found that they are exactly the same as a lama v3, same motors same servo's the lot, just the canopy is different, the canopy is a copy of a robins 22. i'm now in the middle of buying all the XTREME mods that you can get for the lama v3, got the xtreme skids and waiting for some xtreme blades and all metal head gear, then i'l get canopy and tail.

Man you get these things atleast double any height I have had. That one is close to a moon landing. I have got to get me one of these. :-)

@milldabeast519 sounds like some good ideas, may give the fishing a try, wanted to for a while, got a pond near me and the perch and roach go mad on the surface, could easily hang a line in its just i'm not sure if the downdraft from the heli will scare them off. the camera is just a cheap one off ebay, records straight onto a memory card, wish i had live feed cam.
