http://aynrand.org/EarthDay40 -- If environmentalism truly valued human life, what would it say about "climate change"? Keith Lockitch and Onkar Ghate argue that industrial civilization is an irreplaceable value.
why the increase in human quality of life is industrization, touche' this is why the elites of this world do not want third world to develope, it would make life longer and better. they have a eugenics called population reduction enviromental reasons is a cover they really want to rule the world and protect resource for themselves and their families, this is how I understand it, too many people requires to much to control and feed they consider most people as invaders of their property.
Not sure why you are talking about the fisherman in Louisiana.
And if the original entrepreneurs are not american and if their countries aren't helping them retrieve the oil, or if it's not clear who owned what, that oil should still be given to the private sector, let people bid on it. Under no circumstances should it be nationalized.
You've yet to give an argument as to why oil drilling bans should not be lifted in the US.
@Thill029 What about the American entrepreneurs inlvolved in the fishing and tourism industries off the coast of Louisiana. Are these the enviornmental nuts you are talking about? What about their rights?
So which American entrepreneurs are you giving these rights to? The multi-nationals? Last I looked BP (British Petroleum) wasn't an American company.
There is nothing wrong with freeing the oil market from governments and handing it over to the private sector. Most of that oil rightfully belongs to American entrepreneurs to begin with.
And you conveniently ignore the fact that the US has a huge amount of unexplored oil due to unjust bans on oil drilling thanks to your left wing environmentalist nuts.
Like Earth Hour, I'm celebrating soviet dictator Vladimir Lenins birthday/Earth Day by using as much energy, electricity & fuel as I can afford. I'm leaving the refrigerator open while I make my sandwiches, lights on & turning on the headlights of both of my SUVs tonight for a couple of hours with engines running so the batteries don't die.
Just because I can.
And I don't care if there's a "Lennin Connection", they could change the date for that alone, other similar things get changed.
Here in the states all the easy to find oil is gone, everything else is either under permafrost, two miles of ocean, or trapped in tar sands, we will eventually get it but it'll be $200-$250 barrel oil.
Let's open up all areas for exploration? Did you bother to check what the availability is of drilling rigs is for offshore? For any oil that you are lucky enough to find it'll be 5-10 years before we see a drop of it.
@Thill029 I'm sorry it's you that doesn't understand the oil market.
Most of the world's oil is owned by foreign governments and the only way you are going to get more oil from them is take them over at the point of a gun. Which country do you want to invade next? Venezuela? Iran? Nigeria?
We're already importing 2/3rds of our oil and you want to import more? You really are a genius aren't you?

Dr. Keith Lockitch you've got to condense your thoughts. Make them more concise like Dr. Onkar Ghate.

"There's an 1800 square mile oil slick right now that is a threat to Louisiana's 2.4 billion dollar PER YEAR seafood industry"
So? That's their problem.
"You contradict yourself, how can they take bids for something they don't own?"
Fair enough. I don't really care about how the land is allocated as long as its done without coersion or theft.

@Thill029 What about nationalized oil in other countries? Are you going to stick a gun in their faces and force them to sell it to you?
