Religion vs. Coming Out in Lebanon - مثليو لبنان الى العلن

Please DO NOT misunderstand this video:
- Islam is a very pure and tolerant religion.
- Homosexuality is condemned by all three Abrahamic religions: Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Not much is known about what the Druze (Al-Tawheed) faith say about homosexuality.
- Coming out is usually a complicated and uncomfortable process for both religious and non-religious homosexuals.
- For religous homosexuals, wether Muslim, Christian or Jewish, the coming out process is usually accompanied by religious flash-backs and persistant thoughts about texts from the holy scripts.
- The young boy reciting the AYA in this video is meant to represent a younger age of the guy that is coming out to his parents.


In Lebanon, where the Mosque meets the Church and where diversity is celebrated, the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community is still trying to survive. Coming out is not the norm and homosexuality is still considered a social tabboo.

The sin of sodomy is not being homosexual- it is about engaging in anal sex. Married heterosexual couples can engage in that according religious texts, will burn in hell. So voila- lets not target homosexuals. :)
