The TSAR bomba was originally designed to have a yield of 100 megatons but officials became alarmed of ecological repercussions like ripples in a pool of water instead of being confined in one area, so it is reduced to 57 megatons but concerns for safety of testing crews and personnel forced further reduction down to 50 megatons. Future 100 megaton tests were conducted underground in 1950s.

Now our Topols can accomodate 16 to 24 warheads wt a megatonage capacity of 50.16 megatons.
